Dulce Duca's Global Norfolk

Dulce Duca Global Norfolk is a podcast that shares the authentic stories of migrants living in Norfolk. As a Portuguese citizen who has lived in four different countries, my journey led me to Norfolk in 2018 where I discovered vibrant migrant communities from Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Greece, Romania, Lithuania, and beyond.

I quickly noticed that some towns and cities in the area responded negatively to migrants. Having experienced racism and social hostility myself, I felt compelled to illuminate these immigrants' stories—revealing why they moved, how they feel about life in the UK, whether they would return to their homelands—to foster education and genuine understanding about migration through real-life stories.

People often fear what they don't understand. My mission is to inform through these authentic stories, dismantling the myths surrounding migration, and encouraging local communities to become more welcoming and open toward migrants. There are only a handful of reasons why people leave their home countries, and these episodes bring those motivations into clear focus.

In a style that balances entertainment with serious reflection, I invite you to experience these intimate portraits of ordinary people living extraordinary lives all around us.
